Turkey to take delivery of S-400s in three instalments – report
Turkey will take delivery of Russian S-400 missiles in three batches, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
Delivery of the first batch of parts and equipment for the missile defence system started on Friday, with Russian jets arriving at an airbase in Ankara.
A second delivery will be made in a short period, also by aircraft, Anadolu said. The third and final part of the transfer – the missiles themselves – will then arrive, it said. More than 120 of the missiles will be sent to Turkey via ship, the agency said.
Some 80 Turkish military specialists will receive training in the operation of the missile system in July and August, Anadolu reported.
