Turkey is one of the most stressed countries in the world, with 52 per cent of the population stating telling interviewers they had experienced stress in the previous day, Gallup’s 2019 Global Emotions Report found.
The report, prepared using over 150,000 interviews taken in more than 140 countries worldwide in 2018 to capture a snapshot of people's positive and negative daily experiences, listed Turkey as the 11th most stressed country in the world.
Greece was at the top of the list with 69 per cent, with the Philippines following with 58 and Tanzania with 57 per cent.
People aged 30 to 49 were the most stressed, while the data also showed a definite relationship between stress and income level, with 68 per cent of low-income persons stating that they experienced stress.
